I recently had my first experience staying at a hostel at Balea in lovely San Sebastian. Despite being priced slightly higher than a beachfront apartment, my stay exceeded expectations. The friendly atmosphere and comfortable beds with cotton sheets were a delight. What truly sets Balea apart is their exceptional staff who provided guidance on experiencing the city and were always there to help with anything I needed. Additionally, the hostel offers free coffee and cookies, a chill-out living room, and a well-equipped kitchen. Though not centrally located, it is easily accessible by train or bus, with a stop right in front. Highly recommended!
I would be happy to recommend this hotel.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, always ready to provide tips and advice on the city and its attractions. They made us feel welcome and valued as guests. the common kitchen was a great feature, allowing us to cook our own meals and save some money. It was a cool place to hang out and meet other travelers. Lastly, the cleanliness of the hostel was impressive, with everything being very clean and well-maintained.
The location of the hostel was quite inconvenient, as it was quite far from the city center. Although there was a bus stop right outside, the last bus ran quite early, leaving us with limited options to get back to the hostel.
